I finished Jpod recently, and really think it is one of Coupland's best in years. Another fantastic ending that I won't spoil.

Also, just as an fyi, I'm really enjoying my job at the Marshfield Clinic. The great part about legal work is that I get to spend all day doing research, reading, and writing - all things I enjoy. The downside is that I have little to no energy left to do those things at night (hence the lack of any serious blogging lately). But if you can get paid to do what you enjoy...

I miss Madison (particularly my wife), but am coping with Marshfield as best as can be expected. (My friend Jason has some good thoughts on being back at your childhood home here.)

Finally, I am looking forward to some vacation time in August, which cannot come soon enough. Then again, I don't really want this great weather to end, either...

knowing someone who knows someone

so my wife's cousin, shalani, who lives in L.A., is some sort of rep or agent or manager for Pete Yorn. anyway, PY was in Madison last night for an acoustic show at the Annex and she got guest passes for me, leah, leah's sister josie, and josie's boyfriend wes, meaning that we got to see the show for free and meet PY after the show.

it was a great set (which you should be able to view here), including all my favorite songs and some new songs from an EP called "Westerns" that is being sold exclusively on his acoustic tour and probably on ebay, if you are interested. check out the song "good advice" by going here and clicking on the red star. it was one of my favorite songs from his set.

also, i have posted pictures for a change, and not just words, so more people can enjoy this particular entry. (those of you who only look at the pictures know who you are). the first picture isn't very good, so sorry. and just so you know, josie is the one with the kissey face.
